What is the Clean Water Emergency Appeal?
This appeal funds safe drinking water for disaster-affected families in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Please donate today. Floods spoil wells. Earthquakes break pipes. Your gift becomes purification, bottled water or a household filter — not a new city reservoir.
A family can run from a flood and still drink dirty water that night. Children dehydrate fast. Cholera, typhoid and dysentery follow spoiled wells. In past disasters, disease after the flood has killed people the water itself did not. That wait is where your donation matters.

Why is water the next emergency after a flood or quake?
Wells are spoiled. Pipes break. People drink what they can find. Unsafe water can increase the risk of illness. Please donate so safe water is already funded. Dirty water is often the next killer.
The cameras show the flood. They rarely show the child with diarrhoea a few days later. Please donate to the Clean Water Emergency Appeal so partners can put tablets, jerrycans or a filter in someone’s hands before that happens.

How is clean water delivered after a disaster?
Partners use what the ground allows: bottled water in the first days, household purification tablets, point-of-use filters, and mobile units for larger camps. Please donate so those options are already paid for.
Where roads are cut, boats and motorbikes still move tablets and jerrycans. Pre-positioned stocks in high-risk areas shorten the wait. Your gift is what fills those stocks.

Why is access to safe drinking water urgent after disaster?

Do you dig wells?
Not from this appeal. It is emergency access — purification, bottled water, filters, hygiene kits and mobile units — not permanent infrastructure.

Yes. Hygiene kits sit with this water appeal because dirty water spreads disease after a flood. We do not rebuild sanitation networks.
Should I send bottled water from Britain?

The Floods Appeal covers food, water and shelter together. This appeal is restricted to emergency drinking water.
Does this appeal fund cancer treatment?
No. Cancer treatment is a separate appeal. This page is for safe water after disaster.
